How to Install Chatim Live Chat Widget with Google Tag Manager

Step 1: Generate and Copy the Widget Code

  1. Log in to your .Chatim dashboard.
  2. Select your project and click Install in the navigation menu.
  3. Click Copy Code to copy the snippet to your clipboard.

Step 2: Create a Custom HTML Tag in GTM

  1. Log in to your Google Tag Manager account and select the container for the website where you want to install the Chatim widget.
  2. In the GTM dashboard, click on Tags in the left-hand menu, and then click the "New" button to create a new tag.
  3. Click on "Tag Configuration" and select Custom HTML from the list of tag types.
  4. Paste the Chatim widget code into the "HTML" field.
  5. Click on "Triggering" to define when and where the Chatim widget should load.
  6. Select the All Pages trigger if you want the widget to appear on all pages. You can also create custom triggers for specific pages only.
  7. Click "Save" to save the tag.
  8. In the top-right corner, click "Submit" to publish your changes and deploy the Chatim widget via Google Tag Manager.

Step 3: Test the Widget

  1. Visit your website and refresh the page to see the Chatim widget in action.
  2. You can also use GTM's "Preview" mode to test the tag before publishing.
  3. Test the live chat and chatbot functionalities to ensure they are working correctly.

Step 4: Adjust Settings and Monitor Performance

Return to your Chatim dashboard to monitor customer interactions, view analytics, and make any necessary adjustments to the widget's behavior, appearance, or responses based on user feedback and engagement.
