Team Management
The Team page allows you to collaborate with others by inviting team members to access your projects. Manage permissions, send invitations, and control access.
Accessing Team Management
- Log in to your Chatim dashboard
- Click Team in the navigation menu
Inviting Team Members
- Click Invite Team Member
- Select the project you want to grant access to
- Enter the email address of the person you're inviting
- Click Send Invitation
The invited person will receive an email notification. They must have or create a Chatim account to accept. You must be the project owner (admin) to invite others.
Team Roles
Admin
Project owners have full admin access:
- Can invite and remove team members
- Can modify all project settings
- Can view all visitors and conversations
- Can edit chatbot flows
- Can change billing settings
Manager
Invited team members receive manager access:
- Can view visitors and conversations
- Can respond to live chats
- Can view analytics
- Cannot modify project settings
- Cannot invite other members
Team Members Section
Shows all users who currently have access to your projects with their project, role (Admin or Manager), name, email, and actions.
Revoking Access
- Find the team member in the list
- Click Revoke Access
- Confirm the action
You can only revoke access for members you invited. Project owners cannot have their access revoked.
Pending Invitations
| Status | Description |
|---|
| Pending | Invitation sent, waiting for response |
| Declined | Recipient declined the invitation |
Accepting an Invitation
- Find the invitation in the Pending Invitations section
- Click the green Accept button
- The project will appear in your sidebar
Declining an Invitation
- Find the invitation in the Pending Invitations section
- Click the red Decline button
- Confirm your decision
Canceling an Invitation (as Sender)
- Find your sent invitation in the list
- Click Cancel Invite
- Confirm the cancellation
Notifications
Team members receive push notifications for:
- New visitor conversations (if enabled)
- Chatbot notification steps
- Live chat requests
To receive notifications, enable push notifications in your browser, stay logged into the Chatim dashboard, and keep the browser tab open or enable background notifications.
Best Practices
- Small Teams: Invite all members who need to respond to chats. Review team list monthly.
- Larger Teams: Be selective about access. Document who has access to which projects. Regularly audit unused access.
- Security: Only invite trusted members. Revoke access for departing employees immediately. Use work emails.
- Collaboration: Communicate response expectations. Set up notification preferences. Establish handoff procedures for live chats.
Troubleshooting
Invitation Not Received
- Check the spam/junk folder
- Verify the email address is correct
- Cancel and resend the invitation
Cannot Accept Invitation
- Ensure you're logged in with the invited email
- Create an account if you don't have one
- Check if the invitation was cancelled
Team Member Can't See Project
- Verify the invitation was accepted
- Check if access was revoked
- Have them refresh their browser
- Ensure they're logged in correctly
