Profile Settings

The Profile page allows you to manage your personal account settings, including your name, email, password, timezone, and language preferences.

Accessing Profile Settings

  1. Log in to your Chatim dashboard
  2. Click on your profile avatar or name
  3. Select Profile or Account Settings

Personal Information

Full Name

Your display name visible to team members.

  1. Enter your new name in the "Full Name" field
  2. Click Save Profile

Your name is used in team member lists and notification emails. It cannot be empty.

Email Address

Your login email and primary contact.

  1. Enter the new email address
  2. Enter your current password (required)
  3. Click Save Profile

Email changes require password verification. You'll receive confirmation at the new address. Login will use the new email going forward.

Timezone

Controls how times are displayed throughout the dashboard.

  1. Click the timezone dropdown
  2. Select your timezone from the list
  3. Click Save Profile

This affects chat timestamps, analytics date ranges, notification times, and activity logs.

Language

Set your preferred interface language.

Select your language from the dropdown. The interface updates immediately and settings are saved automatically.

Notifications

Push Notifications

Enable or disable browser push notifications for your account.

  1. Find the Notifications section on the profile page
  2. Click the toggle switch to enable or disable push notifications
  3. If enabling, your browser will prompt you to allow notifications

When enabled:

  • You receive browser push notifications for new visitor conversations
  • Notifications are triggered by Notification nodes in your chatbot flow
  • Live chat requests send push alerts
  • Notifications work even when you're on a different browser tab

When disabled: No browser push notifications are sent to you. Other team members with notifications enabled will still receive alerts.

Push notifications require browser permission. If you previously denied notification permissions, you'll need to update your browser settings to allow notifications from the Chatim dashboard.

Security Settings

Changing Your Password

  1. Enter your Current Password
  2. Enter your New Password (minimum 8 characters)
  3. Enter the password again in Confirm New Password
  4. Click Save Profile

After successfully changing your password, you'll receive an email confirmation. If you didn't request this change, contact support immediately.

Security Best Practices

  • Use at least 8+ characters with a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
  • Don't reuse passwords from other services
  • Change your password regularly (every 3–6 months)
  • Don't share your credentials
  • Log out on shared devices

Troubleshooting

Cannot Save Profile

  1. Check all required fields are filled
  2. Ensure email format is valid
  3. Verify passwords match (if changing)
  4. Enter current password for sensitive changes
  5. Check internet connection

Password Change Not Working

  1. Verify current password is correct
  2. Ensure new password meets requirements (8+ characters)
  3. Confirm new passwords match exactly
  4. Check for typing errors

Timezone Not Updating

  1. Select timezone from dropdown
  2. Click Save Profile
  3. Refresh the page
  4. Clear browser cache if needed

Email Change Issues

  1. Enter current password (required)
  2. Ensure new email is valid
  3. Check new email isn't already registered
  4. Contact support if problems persist
