How to install Chatim live chat on your Squarespace website

Step 1: Generate and copy the widget code

1. Go to the "Install" page in your Chatim account.
2. Chatim will generate a JavaScript code snippet for your project.
3. Click on the "Copy" button to copy the code to your clipboard. This code will be needed to embed the widget.

Step 2: Add the widget code to your Squarespace site

Option 1: Using code injection (preferred for site-wide installation)

1. Log in to your Squarespace admin panel.
2. In the left-hand menu, navigate to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection.
3. In the "Header" section, paste the Chatim widget code that you copied earlier.
4. Click "Save" to apply the changes. This will add the widget to every page of your Squarespace website.

Option 2: Adding the widget to a single page

1. In your Squarespace dashboard, navigate to the page where you want the Chatim widget to appear.
2. Click on Edit and select the location where you want to insert the widget.
3. Add a new "Code Block" by clicking the "+" button, then select "Code" from the options.
4. Paste the Chatim widget code into the block.
5. Click "Apply" and then "Save" to publish the page with the chat widget enabled.

Step 3: Test the widget on your website

1. Visit your squarespace site and refresh the page to see the Chatim widget in action.
2. Test the live chat and chatbot functionalities to ensure they are working correctly.

Step 4: Adjust settings and monitor performance

Return to your Chatim dashboard to monitor customer interactions, view analytics, and make any necessary adjustments to the widget's behavior, appearance, or responses based on user feedback and engagement.
