Billing & Subscription

The Billing page allows you to manage your subscription, view pricing plans, and access your payment settings through the Stripe customer portal.

Accessing Billing

  1. Log in to your Chatim dashboard
  2. Click on your profile or settings
  3. Navigate to Billing

Pricing Plans

Chatim offers three pricing tiers with per-user billing on paid plans:

Paid plans are billed per active user. For example, a Pro plan with 3 team members costs $19 × 3 = $57/month.

  • JavaScript SDK

Limitations: Single user only, no premium features.

Pro Plan — $19/user/month

Most popular choice for growing businesses.

Everything in Free, plus:

  • Unlimited team seats
  • Export visitors to CSV/Excel
  • Custom branding
  • Contact buttons (WhatsApp, Telegram, phone, email, and more)
  • Advanced analytics and reporting
  • Standard support

Ultimate Plan — $39/user/month

Full-featured plan for agencies and enterprises.

Everything in Pro, plus:

  • White-label solution (remove all Chatim branding)
  • Full API access
  • AI chatbot (powered by Vertex AI and Claude)
  • Priority support

Trial Period

New users receive a 30-day free trial of the Pro plan:

  • Full access to all Pro features
  • No credit card required to start
  • Cancel anytime during trial
  • After 30 days, add a payment method to continue on Pro, upgrade to Ultimate, or switch to the Free plan

When on trial, you'll see a yellow badge on the billing page and a banner across the dashboard indicating your trial status.

Managing Your Subscription

Subscribe to a Plan

  1. Go to the Billing page
  2. Review the available plans
  3. Click Subscribe on your chosen plan
  4. Complete payment through Stripe
  5. Access new features immediately

Upgrade Your Plan

  1. Visit the Billing page
  2. Click Subscribe on the higher plan
  3. Complete the upgrade in Stripe
  4. Prorated billing applies automatically

Downgrade Your Plan

  1. Visit the Billing page
  2. Click Manage Subscription
  3. Select a lower plan in the Stripe portal
  4. Changes take effect at the next billing cycle

Cancel Subscription

  1. Click Manage Subscription
  2. Select "Cancel Subscription" in the Stripe portal
  3. Confirm cancellation
  4. Access continues until the current billing period ends, then reverts to the Free plan

Payment Management

Customer Portal

Click Manage Subscription or Manage to access the Stripe customer portal where you can:

  • Update payment method
  • View billing history
  • Download invoices
  • Update billing address
  • Cancel subscription

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover)
  • Debit cards
  • Some regional payment methods

Payment Required Notice

If you see a "Payment Required" warning on the billing page:

  1. Your payment method may have expired or is missing
  2. Click the link to open the Stripe portal and add a payment method
  3. Update your card to avoid service interruption

Billing FAQ

When am I charged?

Monthly plans are charged on the same date each month. If you sign up on the 15th, you're charged on the 15th each month. Trial users are first charged after the 30-day trial ends.

How does per-user billing work?

Your monthly charge is calculated as the plan price multiplied by the number of active team members. Adding or removing team members adjusts the charge with prorated billing.

Can I get a refund?

Contact [email protected] within 14 days of charge for refund requests. We handle these case-by-case.

Do you offer annual billing?

Currently, only monthly billing is available. Contact us for annual billing options for larger teams.

What happens if payment fails?

  1. Stripe will retry the payment automatically
  2. You'll receive email notifications
  3. After multiple failures, your account may be limited
  4. Update your payment method to restore access

Can I change plans mid-cycle?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated charges. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.

Troubleshooting

Cannot Access Billing Page

  1. Ensure you're logged in
  2. Check you have admin access
  3. Try refreshing the page
  4. Clear browser cache

Payment Not Processing

  1. Verify card details are correct
  2. Check card hasn't expired
  3. Ensure sufficient funds
  4. Try a different payment method
  5. Contact your bank if blocked

Plan Features Not Available

  1. Confirm subscription is active
  2. Check you're on the correct plan
  3. Refresh the page
  4. Contact support if issue persists
