How to Install Chatim widget

The Chatim widget allows you to integrate live chat and chatbot features directly into your website. Follow this guide to quickly install and configure the widget on your platform.

Step 1: Sign Up and Log In

  1. Go to the Sign up and create a new account, or sign in if you already have one.
  2. Once logged in, create your first project. After creating project you'll find the settings for the chat widget and tools to update your chatbot.

Step 2: Customize the Chat Widget

  1. In the Chatim dashboard, locate the widget customization settings.
  2. Use the editor to design your chat widget. Customize the colors, text, and bot behavior to match your brand.
  3. Set up any automated responses or workflows for your chatbot using the no-code chatbot builder.

Step 3: Get the Installation Code

  1. Once your widget is customized, navigate to the install page.
  2. Chatim will generate a snippet of JavaScript code specifically for your widget.
  3. Copy the code to your clipboard.

Step 4: Install the Widget on Your Website

  • For HTML Websites: Paste the JavaScript code into the <body> section of your website's HTML template file. This will ensure the widget loads on all pages.
  • For WordPress: Use a plugin like "Insert Headers and Footers" to add the JavaScript code to your website. Alternatively, you can manually add the code to your theme's header file. WordPress guide.
  • For Shopify: In your Shopify admin panel, go to "Online Store" > "Themes" > "Edit Code," and paste the widget code into the theme.liquid file within the <head> section. Shopify guide.

Step 5: Test the Widget

  1. After installation, visit your website and refresh the page to ensure the Chatim widget appears and functions correctly.
  2. Test both the live chat and chatbot functionalities to confirm they work as expected.

Step 6: Final Adjustments

Return to your Chatim dashboard to monitor interactions and make any final adjustments to the widget's behavior, responses, or appearance based on user engagement.
